"think," says the old salt of a sea captain, checking out his new recruit, "that a unexpected storm springs up on your starboard facet. What could you do?"
"throw out an anchor, sir," says the brand new sailor.
"and what would you do if any other storm sprang up aft?"
"throw out any other anchor, sir," the raw recruit replies.
"now," says the captain, "a storm springs up ahead of the ship. What could you do this time?"
"throw out another anchor, captain."
"hold on, maintain on. In which are you getting a lot of these anchors from?"
"from the identical location you're getting your storms, sir," replied the brand new recruit.
He got to maintain his task. -
